Small Business Deserves a Strong Voice In Government - Iain Black Vows to Restore Small Business Roundtable
Vancouver, BC - Iain Black, leadership candidate for the Conservative Party of BC, is sharply criticizing the NDP government for eliminating the Small Business Roundtable during February - which is Small Business Month - a time meant to recognize and celebrate the vital role small businesses play across the province.
“It’s unbelievable that the NDP would dismantle a key voice for small businesses at exactly the moment they should be listening,” said Black. “Good government should be supporting small businesses, not dismantling key supports and making it harder for them to succeed.”
Small businesses are the backbone of communities throughout British Columbia, providing jobs, innovation, and opportunity for families and citizens who work hard to build a better life.
As BC’s former Minister of Small Business, Black understands firsthand how effective government can work in partnership with entrepreneurs and the small business industry to reduce barriers, grow the economy, and create jobs.
“There are many practical steps the government can take to support small businesses,” Black said. “I’ve done this work before in government, and I know how it can be done better.”
Black pledged that, under his Leadership, a Conservative government will ensure that small businesses have a strong voice in the provincial government.
“A Conservative government will ensure there is a dedicated Minister of Small Business who works for the people, the economy, and this critical sector in every region of BC,” he said.
